Story
No, this is not a joke. I, Miranda Segal, who courageously bunked almost every PE lesson from Years 7 to 13 and rarely sets foot in a gym (except to buy a sandwich) am in fact running, yes, RUNNING the London Royal Parks Half Marathon on 7th October 2012 for Parkinsons UK. Why, you might be asking yourselves, would I be putting myself through this, when the furthest I've run until now is from the sofa to the fridge (and back if I'm feeling energetic)... and even that is more of a slow jog?
It's because, as some of you know, my beloved father suffered from Parkinson's disease for 27 years, and was himself a marathon runner (as well as so much else) before he got ill, so I felt this would be a fitting tribute to him.
I have experienced first hand the terrible pain of watching someone you love with this horrible and debilitating disease and seen how it affects not just the sufferer but their families too. This is why it is so important to support charities like Parkinsons UK, so that through their research they can work to one day find a cure.

Thank you all so, SO much for your support (both moral and financial!)
Love,
Miranda x
