Each year, the Mina team participate in several activities and events throughout the year to help raise money for our chosen charity. In 2022, we'll be raising funds for local charity, Sheffield Young Carers (SYC), the only dedicated service for young carers in the city.

According to a study carried out by the BBC in 2010, more than 7,300 children and young people across the city are providing mid- to high-level care for a sick or disabled member of their family: that’s as many as three young carers in every classroom in Sheffield.

With more than 23 years of experience, SYC have built up a wide range of skills, tools, techniques, contacts and networks to enable them to provide the best possible support to young carers and their families from all parts of Sheffield. Young carers are always at the heart of what they do: they're committed to making life better for them.

Funds raised will help fund their one-to-one and group support sessions; holiday activities and short respite breaks; family support; and support through key transitions.
