After reading Steve Burkinshaw's book on running all of the Wainwright fells in a week I was inspired! Not to take up fell running, but to walk the beautiful Lake District fells over an extended period of time. So, I booked time off work and will be packing up my rucksack to do this in August. There are 214 Wainwright fells - how many will I cover? 😮 I'm not sure - age and weather may be against me - but I'll do as many as I can and your donations, via this page, to the Lake District Search & Mountain Rescue Association, will definitely help to keep me going. The LD Search & Mountain Rescue people are vounteers; they go out when called whatever the weather; and they rely on donations. They are amazing people and it's too easy to take them for granted. So, please, chip in, support me, and contibute to these amazing men and women on the Lake District's Search and Mountain Rescue Teams.
