As a County and District Councillor I have the opportunity to help groups through my Councillor Grants.

I have supported a number of organisations through my Nottinghamshire County Council grants.

In terms of my Bassetlaw District Council grant the story is quite different. I tried to support both Bassetlaw Foodbank and Oasis Community Centre (which has a seperate just giving page)

Bassetlaw Foodbank and Oasis Community Centre do fantastic work in our communities.

My applications were submitted a few days late as the submission date had been changed by the council, which I was not aware of, I was informed that due to insufficient administration time and rule changes I could not donate from my grants, which I appealed, but unfortunately they would not change the decision.

This is public money that was budgeted and is to be spent at the Councillor discretion. I tried to support the community and those in my opinion in most need with this grant and wanted to give each group £475.00

I have been asked by some kind members of the community if they can support by donating and so have set up this page.
