Dry March for my Mum · 1 March 2020

Migraine is the most common and disabling neurological disorder in the UK, which affects 1 in 7 people. The Migraine Trust is the only research and support charity for people affected by migraine in the UK. We fund and promote research, provide support and information, and campaign for change.

Story

Hi all

For those of you who know me well, you’ll know that my mum has always suffered with migraines, but in this last 12 months, things have changed resulting in episodes of what is called a Hemiplegic Migraine that can cause paralysis on one side temporarily and extreme pain. This is so far the best information we have about what causes the migraines, so I’d like to raise money to help finding a cause become easier. I am doing Dry March, as a tradition of mine and my mums is having a drink together on her birthday in March and for the first time this year we can’t do this, so I am taking on a month long challenge of giving up my very favourite glass of wine or gin to see it from her perspective and also as an excuse to fundraiser for the migraine trust! Please help us out if you can! Thank you in advance!
