Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I'm fortunate enough to be the face of their 2017 campaign 'Challenge Dementia' and have witnessed first hand the incredible work they do.
I'm running in memory of my mum who passed away in November after living with dementia for 12 years.
My mum was diagnosed in 2004 aged just 48 and we were not prepared for what was to follow. I often think how frightened she must have been coping with the unknown on a daily basis. Throughout my mums illness, running had been my saviour. It helps with anger, sadness and a list of other emotions you encounter when watching a loved one suffer.
My full story can be found on the Alzheimer's Scotland Website, www.alzscot.org, or on their Facebook page. Please take a few minutes to read it.
Alzheimer's Scotland need 10,000 pounds every day to provide their networks of Dementia Advisors and Dementia Nurses, their 24-hour Dementia Helpline, their Dementia Research Centre, and their Reminiscence Networks.
Please donate all you can.
15 pounds could pay for a face-to-face meeting between a Dementia Advisor and a person living with dementia, their family and carers or 20 pounds could pay for 1 hour of research at the state of the art Dementia Research Centre.
Why not miss a takeaway and donate the money instead!
Thank you so much for your support.
