Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On the 12th October 2001 at the tender age of 29, my beautiful and caring sister Michelle was sadly taken from this world.

To mark the 20 year anniversary on Saturday 9th/Sunday 10th October 2021 myself and 4 of my closest friends (Jayne Sargent, Polly Barnes, Ferne Gardner and Gemma Bond) are taking on a challenge to raise money for Headway - The brain injury association.

Michelle loved to row, so we are embarking on the Thames Path Challenge - a 100km walk along the river Thames over 2 days.  We’re not hard core enough to complete this in a rowing boat and I have no doubt one of us would go overboard, so we’re sticking to dry land and hiking it instead. The route will start in Henley (a rowing Mecca) and from there we will walk the first 50km to Runneymede and then straight up the following day for the last 50km to the finish line in Fulham.

Between us we have 2 members with dodgy knees and one who's recently had major back surgery and currently in recovery,  so it’s not going to be easy. There will be tears of pain, one of us will probably end up in the river and a LOT of power ballad singing.  But who better to spend a painful and blister filled 48+ hours with than your best mates and raising money in memory of my beautiful sister.
