Story
On May 22nd 2017 we took Poppy and Lois to the Ariana Grande concert, which was a gift as part of their Christmas present.
Luckily 5 mins before the end of the concert, we decided to leave early to avoid heavy traffic, despite Poppy begging to stay until the end. At 10.25pm, we exited through the City Room, passing parents waiting to collect their children, where Salman Abedi was there waiting to detonate his suicide bomb. As we exited the arena, we walked down the steps exiting the train station, we heard the loud explosion, a sound we will never forget…..
It wasn’t until we heard the news on the radio when we learned the magnitude of devastation, where 22 innocent people lost their lives and thousands of others injured.
As we approach the 5th anniversary, we will be walking 22 miles on the 14th May from our home in Littlethorpe to Miss Toni’s academy in Hartlepool and back, we wanted to do something to remember the lives of the 22 people and add to the funds already raised by Miss Toni’s Academy of Performing Arts, in aid of the Chloe and Liam Trust
