On Saturday 20^th July 2019, I’m climbing Ben Nevis to raise funds for the incredible local charity Beautiful Inside and Out who provide support and counselling to those bereaved by suicide or those who are experiencing suicidal feelings. Just now more than ever, we need to increase awareness and understanding of Suicide Prevention in our communities.

This charity is very close to my heart after losing a valued colleague to suicide this year. Scott Simpson was an amazing young man and I, and so many others, were privileged to know him.  He was kind, compassionate and had a dry sense of humour and was known for his witty comments – loved by many and liked by all who met him. He is sorely missed.

This made me realise how important it was to ensure there are safe places for people to share their feelings and the correct support and counselling is available without cost being a barrier. Beautiful Inside and Out are all that and more and I want to raise as much as I can so they can continue their crucial work in our community. They have helped so many people already and it’s important that we continue to give back to those who are helping so many people in our communities today.
