Bupa Great Birmingham Run 2013 · 20 October 2013 ·

We offer help to adults and their families to manage the effects of cancer treatments

Story

On 20th October we will be running the Great Birmingham Half Marathon in memory of Sarah Tasewych.

On 13/12/12 Sarah sadly passed away from Cancer.  Sarah was a daughter, sister, auntie, cousin, friend and colleague and her passing has left a hole in so many people's hearts.

In June 2011 at the age of 26; Sarah was diagnosed with Breast Cancer that had spread to her lymph nodes and went on to fight a brave battle against Breast Cancer. Following a Mastectomy, Radiotherapy and Chemotherapy she was given the "all clear” in March 2012 but unfortunately we were given the bad news in November 2012 that the cancer had spread to her Spine and Liver.

Even at this time Sarah never stopped smiling or thinking of others before herself. Sarah was a true inspiration. I have never met anyone so brave & courageous.

Sarah told her family how she dreamed of "Sarah's Pound", where she would try to get every adult to donate £1 to be split between Sutton Coldfield Cancer Support Centre based on Lindridge Road in Sutton Coldfield and BreastFriends based at Good Hope Hospital. Both of these charities have offered her so much strength and support through this tough time.
