Story
As you may know, last year we lost our little daughter Mia at 22 weeks. I gave birth to her asleep on 10th November 2021 after we found out she had various heart problems and illnesses. It was the most difficult encountering I've ever been through and the Mariposa Trust helped me through such a dark time. Mariposa means butterfly in Spanish (the butterfly is a commonly used symbol of loss and support).
Saying Goodbye is the primary division of the Mariposa Trust, a UK based charity that provides support to anyone who has suffered the loss of a baby at any stage of pregnancy, at birth or in infancy. One of the charities main aims is to change the taboo nature of baby loss, allowing for more open discussion, acceptance and support. I personally found it so helpful having such incredible support from this amazing charity. I had never realised how common baby loss is until going through it myself and I think that's because it's just not spoken about due to the stigma and shame linked to it.
I want to help raise awareness of Saying Goodbye and give something back to a charity very close to my heart, so on the 22nd July 2022 I am going to be doing a 22 hour non stop workout, aiming to raise £100 for every hour of exercise completed. The Nuffield Health gym at B&Q Head Office are kindly allowing me to complete the 22 hours of torture there which I am very grateful of.
In loving memory of Mia Ivy Evans.
