Story

So, anyone that knows me will probably recall they've hardly ever, if at all, seen me with really short hair. Well, this is because I'm actually Samson and if I cut it off, I lose all of my immense strength and sex appeal ... That, it I just prefer having longer hair.

The current pandemic and subsequent lockdown is hitting everyone hard, whether it be personal struggles or business struggling financially. Charities are being especially hit at this time, as a lot of people are being furloughed or losing work or even their jobs, donations will have been hit. With no events currently taking place, and public gatherings being cancelled, fundraisers are near none existent. Adoptions have been stopped. Plus with the likes of the BBC misrepresenting what official vetinary boards are saying, some of the population are even growing fearful of their animals believing them to be spreading the disease and so the likelihood of abandonment is higher.

The government are taking some action to help business and individuals affected by the current situation, but charities seem to have been left to struggle for themselves when many have already been struggling for a while. I don't know the personal situation of the Stubbington ark, but I had to pick a charity to do this for and I know they do a lot of great work locally in helping rescue animals and give them new loving homes. Now I love animals, so want to do my part in anyway I can.

While cooped up in lockdown I decided I was going to do something to raise money. What could I do? I thought to myself. I can't go out and do a big fundraiser. I'm not fit enough to do some extravagant athletic stunt. I don't possess any skills to offer crafts or services. So what exactly was left? Well, as I stated at the begining of this, I love my hair. Like, I've had longer hair secondary school. I've even been confused for a woman on several occasions. You've probably seen my driving licence picture or my first Facebook photo....

So, yes. I'm going to cut off and shave my head if y'all can raise £200. It's all a bit silly, but at least it's something. I'm not talking a buzz cut either, I'm talking razor finish chrome dome. Full Britney meltdown. So please, donate, if not for my precious hair, do it for the poor animals and the charity that is helping to care and provide for them. And if for neither of those reasons, do it to annoy my partner who is throwing a tantrum at the prospect of me shaving it all off.

Due to public opinion, I will also shave my beard. You read that right. My beautiful chin locks are at risk of being sacrificed. One catch, you need to raise £6000. Good luck :).

Oh, and one last thing (I hope you made it this far) - I've been advised that JustGiving allow the donors to pay the fees instead of the charity. I haven't quite figured this out myself yet, but to maximise donations, please add 5% to your donation and remember to gift aid if you're eligible!

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
