Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page

My dear wife, Deborah, better known online as Cold Ethyl, died suddenly at home on the 20th April 2022. Deborah had been diagnosed with ovarian cancer in September 2016 and spent much of the next five and a half years active within the cancer community online, both by trying to raise awareness of the disease and its early symptoms and by supporting other people with a similar diagnosis, especially those people frightened and confused by their initial diagnosis and treatment paths. It was not until the hours immediately after her death, that I began to appreciate how many people she had reached out to with support and advice over the past few years. I realised that the half a dozen or so people that she had talked about to me were just the tip of the iceberg. I have taken a huge amount and solace from that discovery.

The North West Ambulance service were closely involved in the last few days of her life and I would like to thank them for their professionalism and compassion.
