In memory of Maureen Kenney

Genetic haemochromatosis (GH) can affect as many as 1 in 10 people in regions of the UK with an estimated 1.2million people at risk of serious ill health. We carry out pioneering research, increase public awareness, provide education to GPs & nurses and support families

Story

This charity helped my mother a great deal with her diagnosis of haemochromatosis when her GP was not aware at all delaying it by years. Piers and I feel it is important to raise awareness since it's the most common genetic condition in the UK, and virtually nobody has heard about it. If awareness had been better our mother probably wouldn’t have ended up with the health problems she had. It's very likely that the high iron for so long caused the damage that led to her memory, hip and knee problems.

Instead of flowers for Mummy’s funeral we would love it if you would consider donating to this charity.
