Every three seconds, someone is diagnosed with dementia. It is the second-biggest killer of Australians. It is not a normal part of ageing and the impact of this slow degenerative disease is heart-breaking.
Posterior Cortical Atrophy (PCA) or Bensons Syndrome is a rare form that effects at an earlier age than Alzheimer's. There is currently no definitive test for PCA and there is no cure
This July I am going dry to help raise money for the University of Queensland who do a wide range of study on dementia and Alzheimer's. The more that is known about how the brain works, the more we can learn about how these conditions effect people
