This years' insane cancer fundraising event is.... a mile swim in Royal Victoria Docks!

Great London Swim 2013 · 31 August 2013 ·
I know, I know, people are always asking for money so I really appreciate you having a look at what I'm up to.
For those of you who don't know, our best man, Clive Case died in 2005 of bowel cancer at the age of 34, and I pledged then to embarrass myself and do something sporty every year to raise money for cancer. This from someone whose idea of activity at the time was having to get up to pick the TV remote from the other end of the sofa.
I've since done the Race for Life 4 times, and 2 triathlons (yes, triathlons) and raised a total of £3,870.
Last year I was chuffed to beat my previous triathlon time, but my continually dodgy knee gave out on the run and means that high impact sports aren't really a good plan anymore, so this year I'll be donning a very fetching wetsuit and joining thousands of other loonies to swim a mile in the Royal Victoria Docks in London.
Yes, outside.
Yes, in a wetsuit.
If that doesn't deserve a few quid, I don't know what does.
My mission for 2013, to SMASH and trample upon £4,000.
And just in case you want to laugh at photos of me in various stages of elation/knackeredness, or see evidence of my fundraising, my past pages are here:
