Story
Health Poverty Action is a unique charity which approaches healthcare as an issue of social justice. The charity acts in solidarity with health workers, activists and communities worldwide, with operations spanning Central America, Africa, India and South-East Asia.
Their belief is that communities missing out on healthcare isn’t inevitable. Neither is poverty. They are caused by discrimination, racism, companies, governments. These are decisions made by people in power – and that means we can change them. By seeing health differently, and its links to poverty, we can build a healthier future. Health Poverty Action, work alongside ignored communities worldwide who refuse to accept the injustices that deny people a healthy life.
- £15 could help to provide eight undernourished children with the emergency food needed to improve their health.
- £200 could pay for a trainer to provide a month of work training for survivors of gender based violence.
- £1000 could cover the cost of furnishing and equipping a ‘safe centre’ where women who have experienced gender-based violence can access support, education, and opportunities to improve their livelihoods.
I will be running the London Marathon on Sunday 21st April 2024 raising money for this amazing charity.
Thank you very much for your support <3
