This one’s for you- Our beloved Palestine
Having visited the blessed land we strongly believe that we have a duty to raise awareness and funds for a country which is in such dire need of humanitarian help. The situation in Palestine is more critical now than it has ever been and that is why it is a duty incumbent upon us all to help our fellow brothers and sisters, after all if one of us bleeds; we all bleed.
For half a century since 1948 The humanitarian situation and Israel’s occupation in the west bank including East Jerusalem (occupied Palestine) and the Gaza strip is worsening everyday with no improvement. Palestinians are facing daily humiliation, violence and bloodshed which has left them with no access to their basic rights and resources such as adequate healthcare supplies or essentials such a food and water. A nation who cries for help residing in a war-torn country needs our urgent help & attention.
In February 2019 we visited Augusta Victoria Hospital in Jerusalem, where only a small percentage of Gaza patients receive cancer treatment. We met two ladies; Faryaad and Itihaad. This was closest we got to anyone from Gaza, and to say there was overwhelming sense of sisterhood as well as helplessness would be an understatement. The ladies asked for nothing- they raised their hands up to the sky with tears streaming down their face and asked us to just pray. When distributing funds, we met an elderly man, he refused to take our money and pointed us towards patients who were sicker as he felt that they needed the money more. Such are the beautiful people of Palestine. Selfless.
For our charity we have chosen ‘Medical Aid for Palestinians’. Your donations will help provide life- saving medicines. Reports suggest that crucial stock has either run out and is running low. MAP provides life- saving medicine and disposables and can provide hospitals with supplies very quickly. This allows them to respond promptly and effectively in treating the wounded.
Your donation could mean that a child doesn’t lose his mother, a wife doesn’t lose her husband and an orphan doesn’t lose his only sibling. Let’s unite in bringing hope back to the Palestinians, let’s reassure them that they are not alone, let’s help save lives.
Confirmed by Just Giving and MAP themselves, We have a 100% donation policy and all proceeds will be added to our Just Giving page.
The love for Palestine and the desire to return once more will forever burn strongly in our hearts
