Story
I spent 22 days on a ventilator in an induced coma as of March 11th in ICU at King’s College Hospital, London.
A terrifying and life changing experience. Please don’t take chances and BE SAFE!
People are aware of the ravaging effects of Covid -19 on the lungs in the form of viral pneumonia.
However, the virus also targets the kidneys, causing the failure of these vital organs.
The renal treatment I received was an alternative to the traditional machine dialysis technique.
The technique is peritoneal dialysis, and doesn’t require machinery. This continuous renal replacement therapy effectively took over the function of my kidneys as I fought off the virus.
The Renal Unit at King’s has a highly renowned reputation, but, as with all our health research and treatment centres, support is always welcome.
By way of immense gratitude, and not overlooking the gravity and enormity of Covid-19, I would love to show my gratitude by giving something towards the Renal Unit’s fight to save lives.
Donations will ago directly to King’s. Every penny will be put to further the global use of this for cheaper and equally effective therapy.
