Story
Mufti Ebrahim Desai, an influential prominent grand mufti of our era, was born on 16th January 1963 in South Africa and recently passed away on 15th July 2021. He had achieved numerous accomplishments during his lifetime that are evident today throughout the world. His was a very humble person that always gave preference to others before himself and will always be remembered for his sincerity. He was a source of encouragement and support for others to help them achieve their full potential. He was a giant of knowledge, a spiritual mentor and phenomenal teacher that was recognised and respected by many.
I was privileged and honoured to know this great man, he changed my world for the better in all aspects of life.
Our first introduction in Croydon, (London, UK) quickly became the means of introducing Rahma Mercy in South Africa. This bond became a source of immeasurable support in ways I could not have imagined. Ever since then, there has never been a time where he had not influenced me in regards to any vital decision for Rahma Mercy.
For this reason I have decided to begin this initiative in his memory as a means of Sadaqah Jaariyah on his behalf.
A £100,000 project to establish a great centre of education and learning. This will be situated in the Municipality of Librazhd, Albania. The centre will include:
Musalla – a place of worship for increasing our remembrance in Allah and our spirituality.
Madrasa – to ignite and revive our future generations in achieving their full potential.
Library – a one stop source of knowledge for people from the locality and beyond.
May Allah accept this humble and heartfelt initiative in memory of Mufti Ebrahim Desai (may Allah be pleased with him). He will be missed very dearly whilst our lives feel empty. Very few can take his place.
