We support families after a child dies to offer support, friendship and hope.

Story

'The Compassionate Friends' is dedicated to supporting bereaved families when they have lost a child. Each year we raise money for them in memory of Matthew Steels Chambers, who we lost in 2008 in a tragic car accident. The money we raise each year goes towards training volunteers to help care for the bereaved families left behind and to ensure they are given enough support after the loss of their child. Matthew was a beloved son and brother that is as missed today by his family and friends as when we lost him on August 15th 2008. Each year we organise a charity dog walk and tea party in his memory, with music from his brother Ben, and hope to raise as much money as possible for this wonderful charity. Please donate if you can and feel free to join us on our rememberance afternoon if you are able to. This year's dog walk will be on Saturday 15th August, starting and ending on Toft Close, Wainfleet. There will be a donations bucket in the garden, but we are encouraging online donations as much as possible due to the ongoing Covid situation. Thank you, Marianne, Martyn and the boys.
