Story
Thank you for visiting my just giving page.
I am raising money for a University of Nottingham project to build a small pre-school in the deprived Limpopo area of South Africa. Approximately 30 other 2nd-year Architecture students and I will design the building and then go to South Africa in March and April 2015 to construct it in conjunction with a local building firm. It is a real project that will be completed, staffed and used from April next year.
All the students will pay their own way and the University pays for staff, insurances, food and water. In addition to this the students each have to raise at least £1000 for the actual building materials that are needed for the project.
Materials are, where possible, locally sourced and the entire project leaves behind a resource that is valuable to the local population. It is carried out in conjunction with Education Africa, which links up architectural departments internationally with teacher training providers in rural communities in South Africa. The teacher training organization we work with is the Thusanag Trust.
Similar projects have been running successfully at the University of Nottingham for a number of years:

Nelson Mandela said, “Education is the most powerful weapon you can use to change the world.”
We would be very grateful if you would give generously towards the building materials for this worthwhile and life-changing project.
Thank you.
