THE CAUSE

Rachel Williams, the founder of Stand Up To Domestic Abuse, has stated that the isolation response to Covid-19 is causing a "domestic abuse pandemic".

I have chosen to do this challenge because of the catastrophic increase in risk to domestic abuse victims and thus the increased demand placed on support services.

The government mandated isolation means that victims across the UK are trapped with their abusers. The entire country is in a pressure cooker. In abusive households, this pressure cooker is already expediting rapid escalation in abusive behaviour and will lead to brutalisation and deaths. 

DAVSS are the Domestic Abuse Volunteer Support Service and provide desperately needed support to victims in West Kent. They need as much support as we can muster in this unprecedented situation and this fundraiser will go towards their fight against domestic abuse.

THE CHALLENGE

On 1st May,  I will play games for 24 for hours. I will engage in a variety of gaming activities, challenges and competitions . I will stream my exploits intermittently for anyone who wants to watch me visually deteriorate throughout the day. I hope it will be a fun day for a serious cause.
