I am extremely lucky and fortunate to have had a childhood where on Christmas morning I would wake up to beautifully wrapped presents from my loving Family members. 

Unfortunately not all children today in our own country, city, town, village, even on our own street will experience a similar Christmas that I reminisce about. It’s shocking that in this modern age so many children will go without anything on a day like Christmas. 

I may not be able to directly relate, but I can only imagine the sadness, disappointment and self doubt not receiving a gift on Christmas Day would imprint on a child. It’s heartbreaking to consider they might think they had been bad or done something wrong, to not be visited by Santa or are forced far to early in their life to understand their family circumstances are unable to provide them with a wanted gift.

1 in 3 children are currently living in poverty and many more will not have the joy of receiving a present on Christmas day. Christmas is a time of year for celebration, sharing, caring and embracing our basic human instinct to bring joy and happiness to the people we hold most dear in our hearts and lives.

Cash for Kids responds to the needs of children in our communities so they can live life to the full and realise their individual potential.

Based across 22 areas in the UK, they support children aged 0-18 who are disabled, disadvantaged or suffering from abuse or neglect.

Cash for kids Mission Christmas has an ongoing gift donations appeal. All monies donated will be used to purchase gifts for age groups and genders they have struggled to support through the gift donations appeal. Once all gift applications have been fulfilled any funds remaining will be used to provide grants for disadvantaged children and those with additional needs next year.
