My name is Matilda Walpole and I am 13 years old. Although I am young every day I hear about people battling or losing their battle with this terrible disease. I will call it IT (As IT is NOT worthy of a name) It has affected everyone at some stage of their life whether it be a family member, relative, friend or colleague. It does NOT discriminate and targets young, old, all colours and races.
Back in December 2015 I won a silver medal at The British Indoor Rowing Championships. I have since been invited to compete in The World Indoor Rowing Championships to be held in Boston USA on 28th February 2016. More details for this event can be found at www.crash-b.org I spoke with my parents as I decided that I would like to raise money for a worthwhile charity whilst competing. As my mums cousin and my friends mum are both receiving treatment for breast cancer I decided on this charity. It would be fantastic to win a medal but also brilliant if I could raise money for this worth while cause. All donations will be very much appreciated. I am off to the gym now to train as I know I have a huge task ahead of me but NOTHING in comparison to those who are battling with IT. I just hope that one day there will be a cure for IT.
Matilda xx
