Story
The Messenger of Allah (saw) said, ‘Whoever builds a mosque
for Allah, Allah will build for him a house like it in Paradise’. [Bukhari]
By the Grace of Allah (SWT), I am delighted to announce the
construction of ‘Al-Ghafoor Masjid & Madrasah’ to be funded entirely our family so everyone will earn reward for this mosque.
Building a mosque is a wonderful act of Sadaqah Jariyah! The reward for building a mosque is unending, and as long as people are benefiting from the mosque you’ve helped build then you will continue to receive rewards from Allah (SWT) even in the Hereafter.
This is an invitation only to family members to take part in this amazing opportunity with whatever amount you wish. The cost of the project is £30,000 and closing date is end of August 2021. After this date I will fund any shortfall to meet the target InshaAllah.
I am so excited by this project and plan to visit Kenya in February
2022 for the opening.
Please see more information about the project below -
INTRODUCTION
The Masjid holds a central role in the heart of a community, from a spirituality place of sanctuary to an educational institutional. As per the Prophetic tradition, Muslim Charity has been assisting impoverished communities to build a centre of religious learning for the future generations and has empowered the locals to strengthen their relationship with their faith. As well as supporting communities Muslim Charity has been supporting institutions, which lack a place of worship.
BUTEBO DISTRICT
Butebo District is a district in the Eastern Region of Uganda. Like most other Ugandan districts, it is named after its chief town, Butebo, where the district headquarters are located. Butebo District is bordered to the north by (from west to east) Ngora District, Kumi District and Bukedea District. Mbale District lies to the east, Budaka District lies to the south and Pallisa District lies to the west. The
location of the district headquarters at Butebo are located approximately 51 kilometres (32 mi), by road, northwest of the city of Mbale, the largest city in Eastern Uganda. In 2008, the population of
Butebo District was estimated at 120,000 people. The proposed location has an estimated has many households who are zakah eligible. Financially, 80% of the community members in this area survive on less than a dollar a day and others without.
Most of the local households in this community are peasant which implies that they have no regular source of income. Without the financial means to educate their children, some of these children have
resorted to robbery, mischief and criminal activities within their own community. The project area is under-developed with poor social services, especially in the education and health sectors thereby contributing to people’s low standards of living. The nearest primary schools is a Christian missionary school that accommodates no more than 200 students and admittance is only given to Christians.
With very limited resources and infrastructure many children are deprived of access to any education and religious teachings. The proposed location has no purpose built Masjid other than a temporary
prayer shelter that the community had built with their limited resources. The prayer areas has been erected made from sticks and covered by loose material. Not only does structure expose the
community to the scorching heat during summer, but due to the structure not being secure it also poses many risks.
A purpose built Masjid shall support the community to educate their young generation, many of whom are deprived of any education. The Masjid will rekindle their religious beliefs and help foster unity and brotherhood amongst people.
With very limited resources and infrastructure many children are deprived of access to any education
and religious teachings. A purpose built Madrassa shall support the community to educate their young generation, who mostly deprived of any education.
The Muslim community depend either depend on rain water or travel approximately over 4 kilometers to the nearest water source. A water well shall be installed in the community to provide access to a clean water solution within the heart of the community, without the need for them to travel outside their community.
With your support, we can help support this Madrassa and water solution, where they can congregate for prayer in a safe and a clean environment and send their children to Madrassa to learn the Holy Qur’an.
