The sudden closure of the Ngong Hillside Academy in 2018 has resulted in an urgent need for a new school to meet the huge unmet educational need with children having to travel long distances to attend other schools. The Bouncing Ball Trust has commenced a project to build a new school. We are now campaigning to raise the funds necessary to commence the next phase of construction. Education is something that we take for granted in the UK. Unfortunately, in Kenya many children do not have the same opportunity to receive free and compulsory basic education. (Article 53 of the Kenyan constitution give children the right to free and compulsory basic education so they have a constitutional right but in reality, they simply do not have the opportunity).
