Story
What? This project aims to raise awareness and funds, through the medium of tattoo, for conservation projects supporting the preservation of indigenous flora and fauna of Australia.
Why? Over the past 200 years, one-third of all mammal extinctions around the world have occurred in Australia as a result of human impacts. Almost 90% of Australia's mammal species aren’t found anywhere else on Earth. The Australian bushfire crisis of 2019/20 burned as much as 10 million hectares of land – much more than the 2019 Amazon fires and 2018 California wildfires combined. More than one billion land mammals, birds and reptiles are estimated to have been killed. The Numbat, the faunal emblem of Western Australia, has become endangered as a result of predation by invasive species introduced by colonisers, changes in fire regimes and habitat loss. There are estimated to be fewer than 1,000 left in the wild. A sub-species of Numbat has already been declared extinct.
How? This is a man-made crisis that must see a man-made solution. Please donate today to support those working on the frontline of this crisis. 100% of funds raised will go towards the charity.
When? My tattoo appointment is scheduled for July 2nd 2022.
