Hi everyone and thank you for visiting my Justgiving page! Why am I doing this crazy thing? Simple: to raise money for the MS Society. Multiple Sclerosis is personal to me for one reason really; my ex wife, mother of my two brilliant children, and one of my closest friends, has it. Mary is one of the most selfless, kindest, funniest, bonkerserist and just plain nicest people you could meet. She doesn't deserve this. No one does, it's a cruel disease that cuts down people in their prime and the reasons why are not fully known or understood. There are different types of MS and Mary has the relapse/remitting type, which means that she has "good" days and very bad days. In basic terms MS attacks the nervous system. It strips away the myelin sheath that surrounds the nerves that helps to speed up the impulses that tell your body what to do. Without it it basically slows down. MS stays with you for life, there is no cure. The MS Society explain it far better than me:

I want to raise as much money as I possibly can to help fund research into beating this disease. My target is modest, just £395, but hell, I'm walking 100 KILOMETRES PEOPLE, so I really want a LOT more than that.
