Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

A year ago I took on a 24 hour cycling challenge to ride from London to Lands End which has transformed my life....as far as riding my bike is concerned.

It was an experience that opened my eyes to the possibility that this 'activity' can - not only be taken to new levels in terms of personal fitness and goals (eg distances attempted) - but be used as a tool to give a little bit back to this world we live in.

On that occasion I rode and raised nearly £1200 for the female cancer charity - The Eve Appeal.

I also got an overnight 'beasting' on the 40 odd mile traversing of Dartmoor that I have since wanted to get 'even' with.

Either way...the bug has bitten deep.

However, as 2015 began and started to pass me by - the right combination of event and cause eluded me for a variety of reasons. Until now.

The Dartmoor Classic was recommended a while back, but I'd missed the (initial) boat with regards entry. More in hope than expectation, I signed up for the reserve list and had begun to write off any chance of taking on the Grande (107 miles) this year....

...until out of the blue the YMCA Exeter ( ymcaexeter.org.uk ) responded to a post on the Classic's Facebook page, inviting me to join their team.

It seemed too good a chance not to take and - if you visit their website and delve deep - you'll see their cause to help vulnerable young people in that area, is a morally good one to get involved with.

My target is a modest one although the timescale may not be. So please pledge a little to make a big difference.

You can leave the cycling sufferfest stuff to me ;o)
