As some of you may know, my Nana passed away from cancer recently, after less than a year from diagnosis, and shortly after we had received positive test results that confirmed the chemotherapy treatment had been working well.

The speed at which the cancer progressed and seeing a lady so special to me, and usually so strong and independent made so ill by this disease, devastated me and has made me realise how powerful cancer can really be.

It has made me determined to help others and raise money in my Nana’s memory. I want to raise money for a charity that actively works to assist others affected directly by cancer, by helping to fund vital scientific research in order to hopefully bring an end to cancer one day.

My Nana’s death has come as a huge shock to our family; she was a beautiful, talented and extremely loving woman, who was always surrounded by laughter and she always had a twinkle in her eye. Nothing can ever bring her back, but I hope by raising money, it can help towards preventing another family losing a loved one to cancer, as we have done.

To raise money I am doing a skydive from 15,000 ft in July, and  I am also hoping to take part in 2 Race for Life events over summer.
