In memory of Marshall Pennington
We support people living with diabetes to help stay well until a cure is found

Story

On the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandpa, brother and uncle, John Marshall Pennington, more fondly known as Marshall, we, the Pennington Family, would welcome you to make a donation to Diabetes Research & Wellness Foundation in memory of Marshall.

At the age of 36 years' old, Marshall was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. At the time, Marshall was advised that he would be lucky to live for another 5 years. Fortunately, due to incredible charities like Diabetes Research & Wellness Foundation, Marshall was able to live a healthy and happy life until the age of 87 - sheer bloody mindedness to prove everyone wrong!

Marshall was very private about his health and in particular, his diabetes - he'd be annoyed that we're sharing his story now. Part of the reason for Marshall's privacy, was the thought of being considered "sick", "unable", or even overlooked in his career. Marshall was the opposite of these stereotypes, he was always young at heart, full of energy and a true solider until the end.

Marshall supported Diabetes Research & Wellness Foundation as he believed in their aim:

"To understand the causes, prevention, treatment and management  of diabetes- our ultimate goal is to find a cure".

We were very lucky to share so many special memories with Marshall. While there will never be another Marshall, we hope, with your support, that those with Diabetes and their families can lead as healthy and happy lives as we have shared through the work of this charity.

With thanks,

The Pennington Family
