The reason for chosing SWAN UK, is for my son Ben. Ben spent 12 years of his life, being told he was silly, clumsy and pretty much usless and various glib statements from teachers and professionals. They had written him off and expected me to as well, but I wouldnt. I fought for him to be recognised as the wonderful, humerous, inteligent person he is, and to have a diagnosis for his different abilites. When Ben was 12 he was diagnosis under the autism spectrum , it wasa sweeping diagnosis but, at the time I was releaved to have an answer. It helped me feel that he would be understood more by others. Now almost 18 years later we have discovered that my sons differences are genetic. When I was told this I began to do some research and stumbled accross Genetic Alliance UK. I wish I had, had this group of people around to help me when my son was younger
