Say Aloha to the M&C Hawaiian Girls Running Team who took part in the ‘Only Fools (no horses!)’ fun run on Sunday 12 September 2010.
We tackled the horse jumps, grassy banks and water obstacles that made up the 5k cross country course section of the Blenheim Palace International Horse Trials. Boy did we have a complete and utter fun afternoon! So much hysterical laughter and lots of encouragement from the spectators!
After a half hour extreme 'Zimba' warm up, we were exhausted and ready to go home. However, knowing that so many of you had so generously supported and donated, we stepped up onto the stage to be judged in the fancy dress competition. Despite stiff competition from Little Miss Muffet and her enormous spider, The 118-118 Men, The Blues Brothers and a bunch of female 'Where's Wally's', we the M&C Aloha Girls WON THE FANCY DRESS COMPETION! – What a high we were on! So much so that we only went and came joint 172nd out of 177 runners. We can-canned across the finish line together to rapturous applause!
We can't thank you enough for your support and if you know of any one that hasn't donated, it's not too late! Give them a poke and ask them to stump up their spare change NOW!
