On Saturday 30th May, our world became a little darker. My dear sister, Gail, lost the love of her life - her husband Mark.

Mark was her soulmate, her best friend, her companion.

Mark stole my sister's heart on her eighteenth birthday and the two became inseparable.

I grew up a little girl watching my big sister get swept away by this beautiful and kind man, and concluded at that young age that the most wonderful thing in life was to love someone so deeply and to be so deeply loved in return. People spend years searching for a love like Gail and Marks, and I'm so glad she got to spend the last 28 years with the love of her life.

Gail wasn't Marks's only loved one. He was a lover of animals and very much loved their beagle, Daisy - who he would refer to affectionately as 'Princess Daisy.' She went everywhere with him to work, he would take her to McDonalds drive-through for burgers and she misses him so very much.

Gail has decided that instead of flowers, Mark would prefer everyone to make a donation to one of the many animal charities that were close to his heart and that he donated to each month.

We ask that you kindly make a charitable donation to The Donkey Sanctuary in memory of Mark to honour the love and kindness he held in his heart.
