**New date following Covid postponement - 7th - 15th September 2024**
Just over 4 years ago I was sitting in a meeting at work and my mobile wouldn't stop ringing. Somehow I knew what I was about to hear and sure enough, my worst fears had come true. My brother, Paul, who had been suffering from bi-polar for years, had put an end to his suffering. Life, for me, will never be the same again. I'll never be able to speak to my brother, Toby will never see his Uncle again and Oliver will never get to meet him.
For men around Paul's age suicide is the single biggest killer. In September I'll be attempting to cycle from Lands End to John O'Groats in just 9 days. Camping along the way. I have no idea whether I'll finish but I'm determined to give it my best shot. I'm raising money for Rethink Mental Illness, a charity close to my heart which help improve the lives of people suffering from mental illness.
