Story
Thanks for visiting my Just Giving page! Many of my friends will already know that we lost a very dear friend to M.N.D. just last November. His name was Maurice Willmott, (I had been a close friend since 1981), he was only 58. The illness struck suddenly and without any warning and began to decimate his body. Within two years of his diagnosis he had gone from our lives. Throughout that time he always kept his wonderful sense of humour, mostly self-deprecating. Many friends visited him to try and 'cheer him up', but were often reduced to tears on seeing his condition, but it was Maurice that then cheered them up with a joke! There's barely a day I don't think how great it would be to have a laugh with him again. He never felt sorry for himself, his worry was only for those loved ones around him and other people, and their families and friends, also ripped apart by this vile disease. There are of course thousands of others out there suffering now, those with the disease and their loved ones too, so this isn't just about Maurice. This is also about those who are still with us and need our help NOW. I think he would have wanted us to help raise funds and awareness of M.N.D. So please donate what you can comfortably afford, and if you can attend our fund-raising gig in Bude on June 6th at Rosie's Cafe then please do so, you will be very welcome. We will have the talented Finch, Dexter Wyatt, Morgan T.Davis and hopefully Danny Allen entertaining us. Please give generously and visit the M.N.D.A. website for more information on the disease. Thank you! Mark Anthony Wyatt of Bude.
