We fund research and provide support to anyone affected by breast cancer.

Story

Some of you may already know that my father has been fighting lung cancer for the past 18 months.  At the time of diagnosis his cancer had already metastasized and the doctors told him that his disease is incurable. My father is one of the “fortunate” lung cancer patients who benefits from targeted drugs that work differently from standard chemo and have less severe side effects, thus improving quality of life.  My father’s sister is a breast cancer patient, with multiple metastases, who has been fighting cancer for the past 10 years.  Some 33 years ago I lost another aunt to breast cancer. I remember the brutal therapies that existed then and the poor quality and short duration of life that breast cancer patients were faced with.

Each and every day since my father’s diagnosis, I have been mentally paying full respect to the advancement of cancer research. A few weeks ago, I decided it is time that instead of paying my mental respect to cancer research, to become a bigger part of it.  I decided to climb Mount Kilimanjaro on September 25th together with 14 other brave ladies from different countries and continents to raise funds to support an amazing cause: breast cancer research.  To do that I will need your support.  Your donation will help persons like my aunt live better and longer and one day totally eliminate breast cancer.

My father is an amazing person in the way he sees life, in the way he gathers strength and positivity in fighting his battle.  He is my inspiration to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, in gathering my own strength and positivity to conquer the summit.

Breast Cancer Now is the UK's leading breast cancer research charity. They have tough and ambitious targets in place in order to meet their objectives. If we all act now, Breast Cancer Now believe that by 2050, no one will die from breast cancer.

Thank you in advance for your support!  Every little (and big!) counts!

A few things about Mount Kilimanjaro:

It is Africa’s highest peak (5,895 metres) and the world's tallest free-standing mountain, one of the world’s seven summits.
