El Camino de Santiago has been walked by many through the centuries, primarily as a religious pilgrimage, but also for a variety of personal reasons. El Camino is a challenge to continue to walk, one step at a time, hour by hour, day by day... till  you reach your destination.

 I am a volunteer in Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice and I meet patients who are on a pilgrimage to the end of their lives and everyday they face challenges and difficulties but it is a route that they have to follow, to the end. For them everyday is precious.  

When I be on my route, feeling tired or wanting to give up, I should think of those patients and hopefully that will give me the courage to carry on and enjoy the precious moments that, no doubt, El Camino has to offer.
