Story
I have loved the Neo-Futurists since I first saw the Chicago company as a freshman in college. In the 21 years, 252 months, 1096 weeks or about 7672 days between that time in the fall of '99 till now I have seen them perform countless times. Their work has shifted the way I look at theater and art and moved me to laugh and cry and sometimes even dance in public. When I moved back to the East Village just a few blocks away from where the New York Neo-Futurists perform I knew I wanted to join the board and support them even more.
Usually the New York Neo-Futurists perform twice a week 50 weeks a year. Ticket sales from our in person weekly show, The Infinite Wrench, account for 55% of our yearly income. Unfortunately the pandemic has fully prevented in person performance. Characteristically the New York Neo-Futurists did not let that stop them from making great work. They pivoted quickly to producing a weekly podcast, Hit Play, and have started a monthly live digital version of the signature show, CyberWrench.
We are hosting a virtual gala on October 15th at 8:00pm EST with live performances from the company, a live auction, raffle, cocktail celebration and more. By donating here you can join us there!
Your support will help the New York Neo-Futurists continue to make virtual performances until we are able to gather in person for The Infinite Wrench again!
