It is with great sadness that we had to take the decision to close our gates on the 22nd of March. The decision was the only available course of action to ensure the safety and well-being of our visitors, staff members and animals and it wasnt taken lightly we tried our utmost to stay open but this is ultimately the right decision to protect our community around us. Unfortunately we have no idea how long we will remain closed.
Rest assured, during this closure it will still be business as usual for our dedicated keeping staff, who will continue to ensure our 1,600-strong animal collection receive the best care possible. However the zoo is run as a non for profit charity and we do rely on our fantastic visitors tickets to help us with the upkeep of our animals. Obviously during this period we have no income coming into the zoo to help with the care for our wildlife and we hoped our supporters may be able to help.
