Story
As most of you are aware Margaret suffered several illnesses over a number of years, causing much pain and suffering. Despite this, she refused to give up and was stoic right to her final days. Alongside the care received from her doctors and medical staff, she applied her own expertise as a nurse to treat herself almost right to the end.
She was a career nurse, spent caring for others in hospitals, as a district nurse and running many clinics as a practice senior nursing sister during her 24 years at Riversdale Surgery in Bridgend, continuing her support post-retirement.
Margaret was forever passionate about the NHS and the continuance of education, supporting many junior doctors training through the surgery.
She was invited to participate as a patient recently at Cardiff University during the examinations of medical students and was determined to do this despite coping with her poor medical condition. She even planned to repeat her involvement year after year.
To further this support in her memory, the family would be delighted to raise money for Cardiff School of Medicine in the continuance of producing doctors for our NHS.
