Imam Hussain Indonesia Housing Appeal

Imam Hussain Indonesia Housing Appeal · 21 December 2012
Imam Hussain (as) left the comfort of his home behind for the sake of justice and to re-establish the rights of the common man.
He sacrificed everything he had to this end: himself, his children, his friends and dearest companions. To the extent that after his killing, his tents were plundered and pillaged, as his orphaned daughters and bereaved sisters sought sanctuary in the wilderness.
On that day in Karbala, Imam Hussain in his loneliness, raised a heartbreaking call perhaps an invitation to us living here today. He cried: "Hal Min Nasir-in Yansurana - "Is there anyone who will come to my aid" - yet no aid came.
Today the followers of Imam Hussain (AS) in Indonesia have come under attack. The reason is the love they hold for Imam Hussain (AS) in their hearts.
Their houses have been burned, schools destroyed, their property looted.
Some 500 people have been made homeless and forced to live in basketball courts and make shift shelters.
Recently, the government of Indonesia stopped food, funding and support to these families. These actions are reminiscent of what happened in Karbala.
It is only through the generosity of donors like yourselves that these families are now surviving.
The Imam Hussain Housing Project has established a channel to transfer resources to Madura, Indonesia to help rebuild the lives and livelihoods of those recently affected by this spate of attacks. There are trusted individuals on the ground helping with the relief work.
Some funds have been raised and transferred to support these families to help with their daily needs.
This project takes a long-term outlook in helping reconstruct secure housing and sanitation facilities.
Please support this project generously in the name of Imam Hussain (AS) and answer the call he (AS) raised in the middle of the desert those many years ago.
