Story
The MacDonald team and their families plan to walk/run/cycle 6264 miles by the 31st of August. This is the equivalent of the distance from Edinburgh to Kolkata (via Peterborough and Bristol). We have chosen this charity as a number of our colleagues in Kolkata have been impacted by Cyclone Amphan.
Cyclone Amphan Kills over 84 people as it rips through India and Bangladesh at 115mph. Tens of thousands of homes and many villages have been damaged and destroyed. An estimated 14.2 million people could be affected by the cyclone and are now homeless, with no food, water or shelter. More than 2.5 million Bangladeshis were evacuated before the super cyclone struck, but some refused to get into crowded shelters due to Covid-19 fears. Hundreds of villages have been flooded and shelters were unable to run at full capacity in many places due to the coronavirus. Women and children are at serious risk of contracting coronavirus and have little protection or safety. Global One are working on the ground, delivering essential life-saving aid to women and children who have been hit by the super-cyclone. Please donate generously and help us support those most in need right now. Together we are stronger. Together we are ONE.
