Story
I set this site up as a continuous sponsorhip page in aid of the Rainbow Trust Children's Charity. Each year I choose from one of several sporting events I am participating in and request sponsorship in support of this charity.
There's a bit more to my background which is kind of relevant here.... so for those that don't know it http://www.madeupname.co.uk/2015/10/about-me-expanded.html
After completing a few Ironman distance triathlons and achieving Team GB Age Group selection for European & World championships events for 2014 & 2015 I've kept a reasonable level of fitness to fight the tumour and decided that this year the charity challenge is the Brighton Marathon and I hope to be a part of the Rainbow Trust Team that will be running on the day and it would be great to be sponsored for doing so. The brain tumour diagnosed in October 2015 has effectively meant I won't be able to race triathlons safely nor likely work either again, but I see no reason why I can't still do other stuff like raise money for the Rainbow Trust.
If you can make a donation to help these children and their families it would be great. The charity gets the money within a few days of your donation, so there is no need to wait until the event to make a payment.
Pretty much all charities are deserving in a variety of ways...... but one of the hardest things in life to deal with has got to be when a parent sees their child dying and there is nothing they can do about it.
That's why I support the Rainbow Trust so that some of the last days are a little easier. Please give if you can and don't forget gift aid, that way the tax man gets to cough up a contribution too.
Thank you
