Story

Thanks for joining March of The Mummies.

Mothers are forced out of the labour market by an economy that
does not recognise the value of the unpaid care they provide. There are specific mechanisms that underpin our economy – childcare, parental leave policies and working patterns – that reinforce gendered stereotypes about who performs care and lead to a gender pay gap and low participation by mothers in the labour market.

We want to see that change so that mothers can benefit from the
economy as much as anyone else and so that dads can play a greater role in caring for their children. That’s why we’re demanding reform of childcare, parental leave policies and flexible working rights.

Pregnant then Screwed (PTS) is a national charity dedicated
to ending the motherhood penalty, supporting tens of thousands of women each year, and successfully campaigning for change.
They will be continuing their work to support parents in the workplace and continue to work with Government to create change. March of the Mummies cost money to run so we are fundraising to support PTS to cover these costs. Please consider donating and supporting this fantastic work!
