A Dog is not simply 'just a dog'
My clients and I have decided to fundraise for this amazing charity as due to these never ending lockdowns - we know many many people are feeling isolated and lonely. We would love if we can take that away for even just one person. We have found community and companionship through exercise and we hope we can install a sense of that companionship through fundraising for a little furry friend.
We have come together to achieve 31 hours of exercise each over the month of January to raise some money for this wonderful charity.
My personal story:
2 years ago I left my job to become self employed. Obviously in the beginning it took a while to build my business up so I was left with alot of free time.
I suddenly started feeling lonely, isolated and started to feel anxious.
I would sit on the edge of the couch and panic. I had the fear of failure, repeating in my head over and over.... "have I made a huge mistake? "
I had no one to share my immediate thoughts with turn too for a reassuring cuddle as everyone I was close too was working.
I would sit at my computer for hours wondering where to even begin.
My employed days where structured from morning to night, where suddenly, my days had no structure.
My time was my own, but I couldn't even do anything productive due to unbelievable panic brewing.
It was then that me and my now husband decided I needed a companion. I needed something to focus on, something to take my mind off my own thoughts and away from work.
Introducing Bella
Bella is a black, working cocker spaniel. (Yes, the exceptionally hyper, crazy and demanding type). She enjoys long walks on the beach or in the woods. She LOVES swans and squirrels but hates the shower and getting her fleece put on.
She's unique that's for sure.
Bella is my focus when times get hard. She ensures I go for my daily walk and get out of my own head. She makes me laugh when I know I need to, she is something to care for.
And most of all, she is my companion.
