Story
We have taken the plunge and decided to take on the National Three Peaks Challenge in October this year. This will involve summitting Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon within a 24 hour time frame. Completing the peaks in that order!
Over the course of this period we will trek 37km and ascend a total of 10,052ft and back down again! This will be an extremely fast-paced and physically challenging adventure for us all but it's for a great cause.
Richard says - As some of you may know we had an ex-colleague who sadly passed away 2 years ago and left 3 bereaved children. At the time we managed to raise £16k to help them financially and we offered as much emotional support as we could. We have recently discovered that Myton offers counselling sessions for bereaved children who are left in this terrible situation. As well as doing the challenge to help Myton raise the essential funds they need we hope that we will also be able to help them raise awareness of crucial services like this which many people are not aware that they offer.
£162 will fund 10 children’s bereavement
counselling sessions.
£27,600 will fund a children’s counsellor for one
year.
The Myton Hospices believe that everyone matters for every single moment of their life; they focus on enhancing life when cure is no longer an option. They are leaders in compassionate end-of-life care. Their work centres on patients and involving them in decisions about their care. Perhaps most importantly they give them more quality time with their loved ones. Last year they supported more than 1,500 people and their families, in their three hospices, via their patient & family support services, and in the community through Myton at Home.
