Story
6,000 people commit suicide in the UK every year. That’s the equivalent of one person every two hours, every day. The figure is rising. In fact, it has doubled since 2008. The suicide rate among men between the ages of 16 and 25 has risen alarmingly. A greater number of British troops have been lost to suicide than have been lost in battle...this too needs to change. Every time I hear another young life lost it breaks my heart, if only they knew of the great work that the CLASP charity does to help. This is my personal story:
On June 19th 2011 my best friends Lorraine and Andy lost their precious son Sam and Ben lost his brother & best mate aged just 24. He had taken his own life. This had a devastating impact not only on his family but ours and his many friends.
We need to ensure there is help out there for everyone when they feel there is no other option, we need to show them there is always someone that will help and listen and that is what this charity aims to do. So if you want to help me raise money for this great cause then please donate what you can to help. It breaks my heart that I couldn't make a difference to Sam's life but by Walking Out of Darkness I could help change someone else's.
CLASP - Counselling Life Advice Suicide Prevention Charity raises awareness, support & funds for the prevention of suicide and for those suffering from Mental & Stress related illness.
Thank you for taking the time to read my page and please help me support this worthwhile cause and make a difference to someone's life.
