Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In February this year we lost our lovely mam to mesothelioma, an awful cancer, that took her just 3 months after her diagnosis.  She supported St. Teresa's herself for many years and we received great help and support from the rapid response team, along with our family doctor, the MacMillan nurses and district nurses in her final days.

Because of COVID, we were unable to have a normal funeral and had to restrict her Requiem Mass to just 30 people.  We were grateful to the friends and neighbours who paid respects outside her home or outside our family church, St. Thomas Aquinas.

We wanted to mark mam's life in a positive way, as she gave us so much throughout our lives, so we decided to walk to her favourite place, Saltburn, from Staithes, and have fish and chips at her favourite lunch spot.  We've invited family members and a friends to join us and thought it was fitting to give something back to the Hospice that helped us in our hour of need.

Any amount you can give will help a fabulous local charity continue to support families in the way they did us.
